What’s the issue?

Downtown Reimagined is happening.

At this point, arguing about whether we should have started it doesn’t fix anything.

The money is being spent. The streets are being torn up. Businesses and residents are dealing with the disruption.

Now the job is making sure we get what we paid for.

Can Council do anything?

Yes.

Council can watch the budget, question change orders, follow the construction schedule, protect access, deal with parking concerns, and make sure businesses are not forgotten while the work is happening.

What Council cannot do is pretend we can hit rewind.

What next?

Finish it properly.

Watch the spending.

Keep businesses accessible.

Protect as much parking as realistically possible.

And when it is finished, compare what taxpayers were promised with what taxpayers actually received.
